Scroll Sawing
I bougth this magine to find different things to fill my time after becoming diabled. After I started to read the magazine I became hooked on scroll sawing. I bought Creative Woodworks& Crafts when ever I had the money, and I have kept all the issues that I could afford. I checked out all the advertisements on different scroll saws that advertized in the magazine, the ones advertised were perty expensive. I looked around at other stores and found one I could afford. I used the patterns from the magazine with any wood that came along that would work. It seemed that I at the machine all day doing different projests until the saw broke. When my saw was being repaired I continued to buy the magazine and had some surgery, when I returned home the saw was repaired, now I just hsve to wait until I'm well enough to work on the saw again. While I was laid up I was able to reread the magazines over a few times. I feel that this magazine that started me scroll sawing was a God send and really helped me through some rough times being disabled.

An Amazing String of Creative Projects!
I first subscribed to this magazine when I bought my scrollsaw and have kept getting it ever since. There are lots of patterns and projects in each issue for scrollers, carvers and intarsia. They have about a dozen regular contributors and guests who are successful crafters in these genres - Dirk Boelman, Judy Gayle Roberts and a host of others.

Most projects include a set of plans that pull out of the centerfold. Painting and finishing instructions are included as well. Many inovative projects, such as intarsia created with Corian and multi-level scroll-cut scenes have been included in the past.

If you have a scrollsaw, carving set, airbrush or other tools of creativity and are wondering what to do next with them, this magazine will give you the answer every time it arrives. I'll bet you keep your back issues around, too - "someday I'm going to make that ..." ... Read more

Has this company gone under?
I have purchased a subscription to this magazine as a gift to my cousin in Argentina for two years. The first year she received the magazine in a timely manner. However, when I renewed the subscription, the company failed to deliver. Repeated emails and letters to the company have gone unanswered. As a last resort I have been looking for the magazine in bookstores, grocery stores and other places where magazines are sold. I have been unable to locate a copy for at least three months. Anybody have a clue as to what is going on with this magazine?

Art Festivals, you say?
Sunshine Artist is a monthly magazine that can be broken down into three sections: 1) a highlighted festival 2) advice for having a successful festival 3) festivals throughout the United States.

I find this a great resource! When I decided to try out the festival scene to sell work, I had no idea where to start. Another artist recommended this magazine, saying it would give me some good ideas and even allow me to get my feet wet with a behind the scenes idea of what goes on. Needless to say, I'm a huge fan. The highlights about festivals allows me to figure out if I want to be a part of that crowd. The how-to feature allows me to be aware of what has worked and what has not for other artists. The directory allows me to plan for some festivals ahead of time. I know when a due date is looming and what I need to submit. When I've needed to contact anyone with questions, I've always found someone at the other end with an answer or with a contact they can recommend who has the answer.

This magazine is an investment in itself and will allow you to be a successful artist on display with the tidbits offered to you via the pages of this magazine. ... Read more

Snappy British Style
I love this magazine! It's fresh and young with modern twists and interesting color combos. There are always plenty of easy to execute projects and features about British artisans. It's also fun to read a magazine completely void of the cliched American country styles. I usually purchase it at a newstand for $8 or $9 an issue, but they're usually a month or two behind.
