Cheaper at the newstand...
Here are the facts: this is the best English-language general-interest car magazine in the world. This is a British magazine and you will fall in love with some random car that will never be sold in the states. And this is an expensive magazine. It's actually cheaper to buy on the newstand---try any medium-sized chain bookstore---than by subscription.

for the real automotive enthusiast
The prose, the art direction, the wit -- no other english-language car magazine comes close to this level of perfection. Year-after-year, I feel like a kid unwrapping a gift when I get my monthly issue in the mailbox.

The Only Car Magazine to Read
The difference between Car and any other automotive magazine published today is that Car actually tells you if a car is good or bad. Now, this may sound somewhat strange, but if you think about it, just about every other magazine's reviews will conclude with "pretty good for its class" (whatever that means) or "not bad" even when they are reviewing something that the manufacturer should be ashamed to have released. Road & Track for example seems to be unable to admit for whatever reason how truly appaling some cars are to drive and devolves into a Consumer Reports format where cars are rated like toasters: what are the features and how much does it cost?

At the back of every issue of Car, they mercilessly deride the incompetent and celebrate the magnificent.

If you want to read a magazine well written by intellgent people (Rowan Atkinson is a former contributor), then Car is for you. If you want to read a magazine that gives you information on what it is like to drive a car rather than just a catalog of its statistics, then Car is for you. Look no further.

Still the best
After 20 years reading this magazine I still wait for it to come out every month.

The Finest, Best-Written Car Magazine on the Planet!
CAR is one of those few gems in the world that you just hope will stay around forever. Not only is it a great read, but it is important as well. While our magazines on this side of the pond "dumb-down" and give stellar ratings to ducks like the Viper and Corvette, CAR has the integrity to expose [magazines] like those 2 and tell it like it is. When they tested the Chevy Camaro they called it the "Worst car sold in Britain" and said that the interior plastics were on par with "breakfast cereal prizes" in quality. Funny, but true stuff. That SAME month Car & Driver said the SAME Camaro was a great little car. Nuff said.

GREAT FOR A NARROW INTEREST

I HAVE SUBSCRIBED TO THIS MAGAZINE FOR A FEW YEARS. IF YOU OWN A LATE MODEL GM VEHICLE AND WANT THE LATEST IN MODIFICATIONS AND PRODUCT INFORMATION THIS IS THE MAGAZINE FOR YOU.
WHILE I HAVE BEEN A SUBSCRIBER, THIS MAGAZINE HAS FLUCTUATED ANYWHERE FROM GREAT TO AVERAGE. THIS MAY HAVE TO DO MORE WITH MY INTEREST IN WHAT IS FEATURED RATHER THAN THE QUALITY OF THE PRESENTED CONTENT WHICH IS USUALLY VERY GOOD. THE MAGAZINE HAS DETAILED "HOW TO", FEATURE CARS, PROJECT CARS, HIGH AND LOW END TECHNICAL, RACE, PART REVIEWS, ETC.
THE HIGH PERFORMANCE GEAR HEAD COULD NOT ASK FOR MORE.

THE BIGGEST DOWNSIDE TO THIS MAGAZINE IS THAT IT IS VERY THIN COMPARED TO OTHER AUTO MAGAZINES THAT USUALLY HAVE TWICE AS MANY PAGES, BUT COME WITH TWICE AS MANY ADS. ... Read more

The Weekly Racing Bible
Every little detail about every racing series that matters: Formula One, World Rally, CART, NASCAR, Formula One, Sports Cars, Prototype racing, feeder series and Formula One. With a particularly sharp focus on F1, with coverage of the races to awesome depth as well as technical analysis, unbelievable amounts of paddock gossip/news and previews of upcoming races as well. This is the magazine for the *true* racing fan, someone who needs a weekly dose news regarding the Pinnacle of Motorsports and everything else out there. A must have for old car buffs
This magazine features auctions from several towns and the price guide for most vehicles from 1946-76 as well as option features, horsepower, and conditions of the vehicle, #5 condition is the worst while #1 condition is the best.
#5 Below average to poor condition, not roadworthy.
#4 Average to below average condition, may or may not run.
#3 Good to average condition, most likely to run.
#2 Very good to good condition, great runner (most of the cars that you see at the classic car show are in #2 condition).
#1 Excellent condition.
If you didn't know, 1972 is the year that the automobiles have a dramatic decrease in horsepower like for example, a 1971 Cadillac will have 375bhp while the '72 would have only 225bhp, and while 1971 was having a slight horsepower decrease for most of the vehicles, it was nothing compared to 1972 due to the oil crisis. ...
