4-0 out of 5 stars not bad
I ordered this and got it 2 or 3 months later. you get 8 issues a year. so every two months you get a mag. It has beauty, tv, music & movie news, fashion, interviews, recipes and more. This magazine is mature and well put together. It's more for females than it is for males. you can read it in spanish and english. I also recommend Latina magazine. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars May be great, but you'll never get it.
Just like kecksburg65, I ordered a subscription back in Dec 03 and 3 months later have received nothing but grief. I submitted a customer service request weeks ago, and got no response. When I got them on the phone, they told me they now expect that nothing will be delivered until at least 6 months after the order date.

I don't know if this is just the worst customer service I've ever experienced, or if these guys are just unbelievably bad with units of time. Magazine Express claims they'll get back to you in 5-7 days, well, it's weeks. Amazon's claims delivery in 4-6 weeks.. wrong again.. it's months.

At least this gives me an opportunity to learn about reversing charges.

5-0 out of 5 stars Superb content - the best Elle.
The French Elle contains a wealth of articles on culture, current events around the world, politics, psychology, health, travel, beauty, fashion, etc. Its articles are thoughtful and much more substantive than those in the American Elle (which I find to be pretty shallow). It also contains humorous and fun articles - quite a variety overall. All in all it's one of my favorite magazines.

I did not subscribe to it through Amazon but I think the delivery service was the same as described by the earlier reviewer. Initially I had problems too (this was in early 2002) - it took awhile for the first issue to arrive, and the delivery times seemed a little sporadic at first (I'd get none one week then two the next . . ) but when I called at that time - probably Feb 2002 - so awhile ago - the customer service department was helpful and straightened things out, and sent me a couple of extra issues too. So all was fine eventually. One other thing about delivery - there was a time lag of about 4-5 weeks - i.e. I'd be receiving Feb issues in March. Again - don't know if this is the same with Amazon delivery service.

I love the magazine and recommend it highly!

1-0 out of 5 stars Wasted money
I ordered this back in December 2003 and as of March 2004 still have not received any issue. The Magazine Express service that coordinates these subscriptions provides no customer service and Amazon won't do anything about it either. Don't bother ordering this unless you just want to throw money away because they will bill your credit card and give you nothing in return. Amazon doesn't care about providing customer service on this and all Magazine Express is interested in is your money.

4-0 out of 5 stars British society glossy, almost identical to Tatler's.
This magazine is virtually the same as Tatler's with perhaps a few more travel and fashion spreads. Expensive but worth the money but not if you already get Tatler's. More likely to have American celebrities rather than British socialites on the cover. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars A True Showcase of Models and Talent Across the USA
Supermodels Unlimited Magazine is the Ultimate Guide to the Fashion, Modeling,Entertainment Industry as well as Pageantry at it's best. Just one look inside and you can't put it down! What an extraordinary forum for interested new models and talent to peruse. What a lifesaver for the advanced model or pageant contestant to find the resources they need on photographers, fitness advice, talent competitions, wardrobing, etc. When you pick up a copy of Supermodels Unlimited Magazine...Seeing IS believing!!! Have you ordered your Subscription Yet??? I have!

The Magazine truly showcases models of all ages, gender, ethnicity, and locations around the World. That's why the name says it all and so do all the fabulous pictures! The editors encourage their readers, whether businesses or potential contestants/models to get involved and send in articles
or pictures of accomplishments. Supermodels Unlimited works diligently to get the information out there of the Who, What, Where, and When of upcoming events for modeling seminars, photography, trade shows, auditions, pageants, talent events and everything in between. I do mean everything!

The Magazine covers a tremendous array of professional pageant programs on the Preliminary, State, National, and International levels such as teen pageants like Miss Teen America;
childrens pageants (Ages 3-25yrs) such as DREAM GIRLS U.S.A.; and even Mrs. Pageants for married women! And hey, did you know that boys and young men are included too in many modeling or talent events!

For those who have asked the question "I want to be a model but how do I get started"? OR "Everyone says my daughter should be in print ads but I don't know what to do..." OR "Where do you find out about these scholarship pageants?" there's just one answer.....SUPERMODELS UNLIMITED MAGAZINE tm......

5-0 out of 5 stars Supermodels Unlimited Rave Review
My whole family enjoys this magazine. There is so much information in one magazine, it is just jam packed. There are great new ideas on clothing designers, modeling coaches, pageants, hair and make up tips. Supermodels Unlimited features photo contest winners, pageant royalty, upcoming pageant information, just anything you would need and need to know about pageants. It always has pictures from different pageants that are sent in by subscribers, which always makes it interesting to be able to look for people you might have met along your way of pageantry. If you are a subscriber to this magazine, you will also receive alot of free stuff along with your subscription such as photo contest for Supermodels Unlimited, and as always a friendly response from David and Kimberly Lawrence if you ever have any questions.

1-0 out of 5 stars Really Upset!
My daughter is trying to get started in modelling. We bought the magazine hoping for some good tips. We followed the advice given and were humiliated at my daughters first open call. Once we walked into a model agency in atlanta, a gentleman came out and laughed and told her to go and wipe off all the makeup. He said he never heard of this magazine. They passed it around the table and pointed out that it was more for contests than it was for real models.

1-0 out of 5 stars What????? It's Aweful!
If you are interested in pagaents... then you may find this magazine interesting.

This magazine, in my opinion, is about obnoxious, frightening and annoying as their website www.supermodelsunlimited.com

Its a scramble of bad editing, bad photography, and so-called "fashion" models, and pagaent contestants. This magazine gives the viewer mixed messages. Like for an example, they come out with a "Fashion Issue"... yet no one seems to have the ability to write about fashion.

I don't understand the magazine name either. Where are the Supermodels?

If you are looking for fashion models or real Supermodels... try Vogue.

To correct the others above who probably work for the mag, this magazine is a PAGEANT magazine! If you compete in pagaents, maybe this mag is helpful (I don't really know)... but if you are looking to read about Supermodels, this isn't the mag.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best Coverage of the Pageant & Modeling Industry - Period
Supermodels is one of the most informative and comprehensive publications on the pageant and modeling industry to date. It is a first of its kind. They have great articles, from childrens pageant to Miss America, to what's up in modeling (from print to run-way)(Other publications focus on one aspect only, not a total overview). Perfect for the experienced competitor, those interested in pageants and/or modeling or for the merely curious. Supermodels offers an indepth look at an industry that previously lacked mainstream coverage. Enjoy! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars a find
i happened upon an edition of uk glamour at the bookstore one day. it immediately caught my eye due to it's clever size. it's smidge larger than a tv guide, just the right side to pack in my beach bag or sneak into my briefcase. the writing and articles are also interesting. of course, the spreckling of british humor is divine. as if bridget jones herself were editor-in-chief, the magazine is an absolute delight to read. i especially found the difference in the brits take on sexuality quite enlightening. apparently, we americans take ourselves a bit more seriously. thus, reading uk glamour feels like taking a brief vacation from the daily american ratrace. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars A fun read
I've read Non-No now for several years, and I truly recommend it to anyone wanting to expand their fashion outlook-- it's true, what the previous review said about wacky fashion! However, they eat this stuff up over there! And apparently I do too or else I wouldn't have bought the magazine! My earliest Non-No mag is from may of 1995, and the fashion in that magazine didn't really catch on in America until 1997 or 1998. I promise! So if you want a two-year fashion forecast THIS IS A MUST!!!!

By the way, my brother lived in Japan for some time and he said that a Gap t-shirt was $78.

4-0 out of 5 stars Popular Japanese Teen Fashion Mag
This was the first Japanese magazine I had ever perused and I was pretty impressed by all the pretty, yet conservative models. Some of the fashions are wacky and funny to the American reader, but that's what they go for. Some fashions, however, find their way into the US scene years later. Keep that in mind. The Japanese are, for the most part, trendsetters. Hong Kong and Taiwan just copy them. Most of the magazine is in color but the black and white section is probably just horoscopes, advice and interviews. I don't know. I can't read Japanese. It's alright because the pictures are entertaining enough. By the way, the Japanese have a ravenous obsession with shoes. Whatever nobody else is really wearing, they'll wear it. I hear that their fashion changes each week. I wonder how much money they spend on clothes... ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great magazine! Go suscribe!
This has got to be my favorite fashion magazine! The american Vogue's kinda boring and full of ads, hardly features any shows (runway) or anything like that. This one does, and it does it extremely well. Every month it's full of pictures from the runway, the newest fashion items and they're all really gorgeous.
If you want a magazine that's completely about the latest clothes and accesories, plus articles on new books, celebrity and designer interviews, makeup tips and a lot of other things, get this one because it's really worth it.
Sometimes there are special issues that come with another Vogue magazine like Vogue beauty, Vogue parenting, Vogue brides, etc.

The downside: It's really expensive. I'm better off buying it on the market at $4.00.

3-0 out of 5 stars If You're American Stick To Our Vogue
I am an American who happens to be very multi racial. Via my parents I have Spanish, French, African, Cuban, Native American and Irish Running through my veins. That's pretty much how all of my family is. So growing you you learn to appreciate other cultures real fast. You also learn how to speak at least three different languages fluently. For me, it's Spanish, Italian, and Gaelic. So when I pick up foreing magazines, you better believe that I want something that is cutting edge, infomative, and quite frankly, a link to how other people are living in different parts of the world. So if you love Vogue, and you love fashion, then this is the right mag for you. However, if you're looking for stuff about how the other cultures revere their stars, fashion, culture, community, then forget Vogue Espana.

While it's just like reading U.S. Vogue, that becomes a problem in the long run. Do you really want to pay 180 bucks for a magazine subscription and see Gwyneth, Julia, Halle, even Penelope, when you get the US edition for twelve bucks a year and read about the same people? I think not. Vogue Espana focus' too much on what's going on over here as opposed to what's going on over there. Vogue Paris and Vogue Italy fair way better.

So if I were you I'd buy special stand alone copies that really catch your eye. ... Read more
