5-0 out of 5 stars A magazine no woman should be without
I have been reading Woman's World magazine for about 2 years and have not missed ONE.I keep all of the magazines and refer back to different articles from time to time. I have encouraged all of my friends to purchase this terrific magazine and of course they are hooked. For the price of this magazine and the wealth of information it contains, I feel like I have saved thousands and learned so much. Keep up the great job and I would recommend WW to publish books by topics such as good health, home and family, food and nutrition etc.... LOOK THIS MAGAZINE THANKS

5-0 out of 5 stars My All-time Favorite Magazine
I have loved this magazine since the mid-80s when my mom bought it and I would read hers. Since getting married over 12 years ago, this magazine has been my own little weekly, inexpensive treat to myself. The articles are very inspirational, and I love the craft and decorating ideas; health, money and fashion tips; advice; etc. The recipes are GREAT! My husband is a gourmet chef and has used many of the recipes for entertaining! My son likes to try the cute cake ideas. My kids used to like looking for Womans World at grocery checkout counters to find the next issue for me. Thanks to the discount through Amazon, I now will be receiving the next 52 issues right in my mailbox. Read this magazine -- it will brighten your (and your family's) lives! ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars excellent info
I enjoy my subscription to WLS Lifestyles. I just had my surgery 6/17 and found it very informative pre-op and now post -op. A little more variety would be good and maybe some sample menu ideas for people at different stages. But overall an excellent magazine, I wish it were published monthy.

5-0 out of 5 stars Addresses all Aspects for Post-Surgery
I found this magazine to address many of the questions I have had over the past 2 years and review some of the issues post-op patients face (such as dating again). Many of the people who are having or have had WLS are very scared to enter the dating world again and this magazine had an excellent article about the emotional issues which are tied in with the weight.

The health, nutrition, etc. articles are all 1st rate and there is no commercialism involved. Many books or articles related to WLS are strictly for the pre-op. This magazine is not that way at all.

I will be renewing my subscription.

5-0 out of 5 stars Educational & Inspiring!
This magazine is truly wonderful for all people who are considering having gastric bypass surgery or for those who already have. The articles are very informative, and the magazine is worth reading cover to cover! It is very well worth it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Very informative
I have to say that this is a wonderful source of information. Not only for the post-op patient but the pre-op paient as well. They touch on all aspects of the surgery, diet and mental health. I would reccomend this to anyone who is thinking about having WLS, people who have already had WLS and any spouse or family menber of somone going through this journey.!!!!! A+++++ rating from me. ... Read more

The American Journal of Nursing is to its profession what the Journal of the American Medical Association is to physicians: the standard by which all related industry publications are measured. Published monthly, AJN is the official journal of the American Nurses Association and as such, harbors a high level of prestige not only among nurses, but medical professionals from all trades. Features are usually reserved for in-depth research studies or new nursing procedures. Readers also can receive continuing education credits through AJN publisher Lippincott Williams & Wilkins by taking and passing inserted mail-in tests related to such features. A news section addresses work-related issues such as adapting to new technologies, improving the workplace, trends, and new panel findings. Department articles delve into subspecialties such as infectious disease, pain control, and living with illness. AJN also keeps a classifieds section in the back of the book to help nurses seeking to relocate. As medical science advances, nursing positions become more specialized. AJN is the best way for registered nurses nationwide to receive the latest information and instruction vital to honing their skills. --Kristopher Kaiyala ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars The Premier Professional Nursing Journal
Since my days as an undergrad in a nursing program I have read the AJN. This journal was promoted as the journal for professional nurses. During the 70's and 80's when nursing was trying to reclaim itself as a profession and just as important as medicine, the journal became the place to go for all recent up-to-date knowledge. The AJN has focused on research to maintain its professionalism and its integrity. Nursing research has led our profession into the mainstream. The AJN has led the way and has remained the most important magazine/journal for all professional nurses. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Nursing Magazine - Great basic nursing magazine
Nursing magazine is something I enjoy reading every month. It helps keep me current with the ever changing world of medicine and nursing. I am a clinical research nurse so I don't do true bedside nursing any longer. I do however have direct patient contact and keeping up with new medications, procedures, etc. is very important. Being a research nurse you develop a close relationship with most patients. You deal with the same patients for years sometimes depending on the study they are involved with. I need to keep current because these patients rely on me to be there for them and have answers. I read many journals, and Nursing is great for the basics.

1-0 out of 5 stars Order from Amazon
Make sure you order this magazine from Amazon(.com). I ordered from the publisher and have had nothing but problems. It's been a month since I ordered it and still no magazine. I have e-mailed them several times but have not gotten the answers I asked for or found out where my subscription is. As a result I would recommend going with a magazine from another publisher. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars A lively and informative magazine
Someone brought this into work and everyone in the office was reading it and just loving it. Several people copied the recipes especially for the desserts. I'm not low carbing full time yet but I found this really inspiring and think I will try to do the whole LC diet this weekend. I also subscribed because I know I will need the ongoing motivation. It's nice to have something fun and interesting that isn't all preachy.

2-0 out of 5 stars Confusing and shallow
I was very disappointed by my first issue of Low Carb Energy. I found the layout confusing (hard to see where ads started and content began) and the content very superficial - more sound bites than in depth articles. The magazine was mostly ads for low carb junk food and low carb recipes, which I have plenty of in my cookbook library. I'm probably going to cancel.

5-0 out of 5 stars AWESOME
This magazine is awesome! It is fun, and light and also very informative - If you are a low carber you CANNOT miss out on this magazine.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Magazine!
I really liked this magazine. It answered many questions I had as well and opened my eyes to information I never knew. It is nice to finally have a comprehensive source of information that I can turn too! I just wish it was monthly, but I will wait patiently!

(BTW, my husband loved the cigar article. It gave him the "OK" to do something I am not a fan of...all in the name of low-carb!)

5-0 out of 5 stars OMG! This magazine is awesome!!
This magazine is awesome! I loved the layout. The articles were so informative. I loved the coupons and can't wait to try all those products. A great addition. I have subscribed and can't wait till the next issue come out! This is the best Low Carb magazine on the market! ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Only 6 issues a year?!
I read every exercise and fitness magazine I can get my hands on. I train 6 days a week and am always looking for new recipes and ways to spice up my workouts. I DO LIKE this magazine. It has a lot of little tips and news bites that make it an easy and informative read.
...But, I do not think it packs enough info to make it worth the price. At only 6 issues a year it is far more expensive then Oxygen or even Hers M&F. And some of the models look skinny and untoned. The BEST fitness magazine out there is Oxygen with Hers M&F being second. Both are full of great tips and the models are real fitness competitors. Check out Oxygen before you do anything.

5-0 out of 5 stars Worth Reading Every Page
I've been an "off again/on again" athlete for years and now, at 45 years old, needed this magazine to re-inspire me to get out there and get back in shape! It's format is so easy to read, you can spend 30 seconds or 30 minutes and still feel like you've just hit on something new/different/great! I would highly recommend this magazine...

5-0 out of 5 stars Definitely a "get up and exercise" magazine!
My husband and I were in a Barnes and Noble one friday night approx..9pm and I picked up this magazine..I could not believe how motivating a magazine can be. From its simple articles on how "average women" took control of themselves and got "fit"..not just lost weight. You will find motivational "success stories", exercise tips, weight training tips, and delicious recipes. To say how motivated I was I went home and tried out a workout I found for my elliptical...and it was a GREAT workout, can't wait to do it again today! 5-0 out of 5 stars Best Yoga Magazine I've seen!!!
I think that Yoga International is, hands down, the best magazine on this topic. It has interesting, well written articles on all aspects of yoga (philosophy, life style, meditation, sanskrit chants, etc.) and beautiful photographs. I read it cover to cover as soon as it comes. In addition, the magazine is supplemented by its website where I've been able to actually hear the pronounciation of sanskrit chants.

To give you a flavor of the magazine, a recent issue (May 2003) included the following articles: Awakening to the Gayatri Mantra; Postures to Activate the Lymph System for Breast Care; Awakening Spirit, A Joyful Practice: Cultivating the Moment; Really Relaxing, The Yoga Sutra: Four Pillars of Concentration, Descendants of Gods (by Huston Smith), and Everyday Ayurveda. In addition, there was a wonderful editorial offering a alternate perspective on viewing the world in these times when many people are viewing everything through a lens of fear. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars If you think you know it, you don't until you read this!
I'm an everyday fitness enthusiast who prides herself on knowing more than the average person when it comes to training, techniques and supplements...until I read Real Solutions, this magazine is a must for explaining, guiding and making complete sense of our bodies and how they work and what we need to put in them to make them more effective. It seems every article has been written in a way that it makes complete sense to anyone reading whether knowledgable or not...you can't fail to be impressed by the superior level of technical advice put into everyday language....these guys are to be adhered to if you want to achieve your personal best in whatever field you train in....it's a must, in fact it's more than that, if you're serious about pushing yourself as far as you can, it's one of life's essentials...sounds dramatic I know, but it's made so much difference in the way I approach my workouts and what I eat and what supplements I take.Thank you.

5-0 out of 5 stars Real Solutions Magazine
Real Solutions Magazine is different from most publications which attempt to print the "secrets" to bodybuilding and fitness success but fall short of valid information and end up just being catalogues for supplement companies to sell their products.Real Solutions Magazine offers easy to understand and usable information on every fitness related subject you can think of.This is not just a magazine about what to eat and how to train, but tackles overlooked elements such as goal setting and mental stratagies. After a few issues, it is apparrant that this is more than a magazine but more like a step-by-step guide to help all aspiring bodybuilders and fitness enthusiasts create and achieve goals and reach the pinnacle of their physical endeavor. It is obvious that the writers and editors of Real Solution Magazine not only are committed to the magazine's success, but they have a passion for helping others succeed as well!

5-0 out of 5 stars The most truthful fitness magazine out there!
I've been a reader for nearly two years and I always read it cover to cover!

5-0 out of 5 stars The Fitness Info I'm Really Looking For
I've read lots of muscle magazines and fitness books, but RealSolutions Magazine tops them all.I'm looking for information that targets the average guy trying to get and stay healthy. In this magazine I get reliable nutrition advice, great suggestions on workouts and muscle development, and sound tips on choosing supplements. It isn't full of explicit things that offend a decent person, nor does it waste my time on non-related material. The format is pleasing--good quality paper and artistic layout. The only drawback--it's not a monthly publication.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Magazine for Beginners and Advanced Bodybuilders
Real Solutions Magazine has officially become one of the best health and fitness magazines on the market today.I believe it's going to not only fill the shoes of the now extinct Muscle Media, but it will surpass it.

I highly recommend this magazine to all who are serious about getting a better body and shaping up! ... Read more

RN is the respected professional journal "with the personal touch" for registered nurses. The magazine prides itself on its monthly delivery of cutting-edge research data and articles that tackle the major issues confronting today's nurses and nursing procedures. A bit more accessible than its sister publication, the American Journal of Nursing, RN speaks to nurses in the trenches of their jobs yet still maintains a highly scientific record. Research studies based on procedures or diseases are fleshed out in great technical detail. Feature articles address a variety of nursing issues from best practices to alternative medicines, while the "News Watch" section briefly outlines industry updates and trends. Like AJN, RN offers continuing education credits for registered nurses via mail-in tests. A section called "Management Decisions" offers expert advice on how both nursing directors and their nursing teams can interact smoothly and productively. And each month RN spotlights a Shining Star, a nursing professional who deserves special recognition for his or her unique work--a personal touch indeed. --Kristopher Kaiyala ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Bad Writing Prevails
Filter magazine covers good bands (for the most part) and sometimes has nice photos and presentation, but the writing is often beyond pretentious, and often has more to do with the writer than the actual bands they are interviewing. For example, they had an interview with Robin Guthrie from the Cocteau Twins, but first there was a whole long intro in which the writer explained how he got laid once to a Cocteau Twins album - who cares. Then they had an article on Death Cab for Cutie in which half the article consisted of the writer expressing his jealousy that Death Cab were getting laid when he wasn't. Another article on Doves was more concerned with the Hacienda club in Manchester than the band, just because they played there once and the writer happened to go there once. Filter once interviewed Bright Eyes' Conor Oberst, arguably one of the best songwriters of his generation, and actually asked him if he'd ever date Winona Ryder - how insulting. For an article on Hot Hot Heat they devoted a whole page to interviewing the musical director of LA's KROQ radio station about why they played Hot Hot Heat, when maybe a paragraph would have sufficed. For a recent cover story the put The Strokes and Lou Reed in a room together. Sounds great, right? Unfortunately, they were hardly any quotes from either The Strokes or Lou Reed. Most of the article consisted of the author's pretentious musings on what the meeting of the two artists meant and so forth. Most of the reviews are positive, and that's because Filter is also a marketing company that's paid by the labels of the very artists that they review. I'm not saying that there aren't good things to be found in this magazine. I'd certainly rather read it than Spin, Rolling Stone or Alternative Press. But then there are definitely other music magazines I'd rather read, like Mojo and especially Under the Radar. Filter's motto is "Good Music Will Prevail." It's too bad that in the pages of the magazine bad writing prevails.

4-0 out of 5 stars Pick it up, love it. Read about what music is today.
Of all the glossy, coffee table-ready music magazines out there, this is by far the best. A little thinner than say a Q or Spin, but that's good since there are less annoying advertisements taking up half of the magazine. The articles are honest and intelligent, without taking things too seriously. The bands they choose to review are also along the same lines, and are often reviewed before to mass media hype or superstardom. But they do review the more established music darlings like Radiohead and David Bowie, but in a way that's fresh and not they same article you've read 5 times before in other glossies. So get your artists while they're young and apreciate the ones that have been around the block a few times a whole lot better.
If you get a music magazine subscription this year, get Filter. I swear you won't be dissapointed. They're also fairly new, so please support newbie in the world of mass mosters like Rollingstone and Spin. ... Read more
