very Compact
alot of solid details,stats&overall information past&Present that truly adds up. the Magazine is cool in that it's real compact&that is the one thing that I always dug about all the Digest's they are magazines you can read&eat with at the same time. i always enjoyed Q&A's with certain players.a really cool Read for the Football Fan.

A great football magazine that "digests" quickly
After spending some time sorting through the plethora of sports periodicals in an effort to find one that gives good coverage of the NFL scene but didn't bore me with too many details and stats, I ended up favoring Football Digest® over the rest. I find about 80% of the articles, opinion pieces, and interviews within this mag at least modestly interesting, and highly readable. The regular features of FbD include the big interview of the month with a top pro star, a column that focuses on the college ball scene, and a former pro player's memories of "the game I'll never forget"

Football Digest is a fairly quick yet informative read for me; I can usually blow through an entire issue in about an hour and a half. 'Course, with it being digest sized and only 90 pages long-- 75 pages if you skip the stats section in the back-- it shouldn't take too long to go cover to cover, anyway. Fortunately, some of the articles are worth a second read-- which is a rare thing for me, as I'm usually pretty much done with a periodical as soon as I've read the pieces of interest once. The only initial turn-off I encountered with FbD was the cover price. If it weren't for the highly discounted subscription rate, I'd never plunk down six bucks a month for a small 90-page magazine that doesn't even have color photos (save for the cover); it just ain't worth it. So needless to say, if you're interested in giving Football Digest a quick try-out before ya buy, snap it up at your local newsstand. If ya like what'cha see, go for the subscription.

Best For Breadth Of Coverage
I have been reading STREET & SMITH'S COLLEGE FOOTBALL magazine since about 1946.

The current issue contains previews of all Division I-A teams and all Division I-A and Division I-AA conferences. It also includes national previews for smaller colleges, junior colleges and high schools as well as Division I schedules and final 2003 statistics. It even has last year's complete postseason results for Divisions I, II, III and NAIA. For pure breadth of coverage I believe that STREET & SMITH'S COLLEGE FOOTBALL magazine beats all competitors. ... Read more

Quickly becoming a must have publication for serious coaches
This is a nice little magazine that I really have gotten used to looking forward too. Unlike other magazines that focus on the "personalities" of the sport, Gridiron Strategies focuses on the "how". Each issue has a little nugget of knowledge that the football coach can use or at least consider. Some of the coaches that have appeared in this magazine in the last few month include Norm Parker (DC-IOWA) Wayne Nunnely (DLine- San Diego Chargers) andJerry Vallotton (author of "The Toss").
