Fun stories and skier info
Skiing magazine mixes interesting and fun stories of skiing adventures with a lot of good information on gear, resorts, etc. The mag gives info on different ski areas in N. America & around the world - great for those that like to plan ski adventures away from home like me. It provides the latest in ski gear and new technology available for skiers of all abilities - great for those looking to upgrade their outdated gear. Every issue also has one article or another following some ski nut or a team of ski nuts around the world on their latest adventure, from Alaska glaciers to Rocky Mtn. backcountry. Keeps me excited about skiing..even during the off season.

Good overall
Good magazine if you're looking for articles on equipment on or coming on the market that has been well tested and rated price, ability level etc. Good pieces on preventing injuries and getting and staying fit, since skiing means you better have strong legs and upper body control.

Equipment resource
Provides good tips on how to improve your technique whether you're a beginner, or more advanced skier. Also has good information regarding new products and which equipment is best suited for you. ... Read more

Sweet
This magazine is the best snowboard mag out there. Every time I read I wanna go shred. It's got ill pics, sweet columns, and great coverage. It gives props to the guys who deserve them. Oh, and the poster is usually pretty tight too. You gotta subscribe to this one if you're lookin for a snowboard mag.

Other recommendations...any snowboard mag is worth buyin...but this is the one that's worth subscribin to. GET IT.

Too Many Ads
This is a good magazine if your looking for pics but otherwise there are way to many ads. There isn't anything but ads!

The Best skiing magazine by far!!
There is no comparison to Powder Magazine for hard core skiers. The writers and photographers that contribute to Powder Magazine are passionate skiers. They are in it for the love of the sport and it shows in their work. The magazine has the best photography spanning everything from extreme stunts in Alaska to Sunsets over the Alps. Every year Powder has a fantastic photo annual that is larger in size and stapled so as to have better 2 page pictures. As a kid I would cut out the pictures and paste them all over my room and locker. As an adult, I just enjoy the pictures and writing and keep it on my coffee table.

I have been a subscriber for over 20 years and routinely give this as a gift to friends.

There is no other ski related magazine that compares.

The ONLY Ski Mag
Sure, Ski magazine offers you important information in their equipment buying guides, and Skiing covers the logistics of a family skiing vacation, but only Powder offers a snapshot into the essence of being on a mountain with two boards strapped to your feet. It's simply the closest thing to actually being there. In part, the editors achieved this feeling with unbelievable photographs - the best in the industry - but it seems that the writers are better able to tap into the spiritual and powerful moments a skier has felt standing, for example, on top of Whistler. Snowboarder Magazine is the best!
I have been snowboarding and reading related magazines for over 6 years. Snowboarder has consistently been on top with the best photos and articles. You get trick tips, location info, and lots of other fun stuff like interviews and up and coming riders. If you like snowboarding, I definitely think you should pick up this magazine. Some parents may want to preview the magazine because there is some sexual content and some graphic ads as well. But honestly, where WON'T you find that these days, huh?
